Travelling in the winter or the summer months make for a leisurely two weeks giving you plenty of time to take in the vast country. Unlike ocean cruising, rail cruising takes you to the heart of the country, allowing you to access these remote areas in style, comfort and safety.
The Golden Eagle was launched in 2007, and offers the most luxurious way to travel the Trans-Siberian railway.
The Golden Eagle comprise of fully ensuite Silver and Gold sleeping cars, which feature state-of-the-art amenities. Gold class cabins (7m²) are well-proportioned and have everything from power showers and under floor heating to DVD/CD players and individual air-conditioning. Silver cabins are more compact (5.5m²) and have similar facilities, whilst our third cabin New Heritage (3.6m²) is not ensuite.
In all cabins, towels and linen are changed regularly, as well as bathrobes, slippers and toiletries being provided. Cabin attendants are on call 24 hours a day and will serve tea, coffee and mineral water in your cabin.
On a typical day, the train will travel through the night, whilst you sleep in your private cabin. Disembarking after breakfast the following morning you will be whisked away by coach or mini-bus to explore the sights and sounds of the new arrival point. At the end of the day, you will return to the sanctuary of your "hotel on wheels" to be greeted by your cabin attendant with refreshments. Enjoy a hot shower in your ensuite bath room and, as the train sets off again to your next destination, settle down with your travelling companions for pre-dinner drinks in the bar car, followed by a meal in the restaurant car including local specialties and international cuisine, accompanied by a selection of fine wines. You can linger over a coffee and reflect on the adventures of the day knowing that your bed will be made ready for your return.
